A SYSTEMATIC APPROACH TO
TREATMENT & TRAINING FOR PERFORMANCE

STEP 1 
ASSESSMENT

The best case scenario is an assessment where I can get my eyes and hands on the person I am treating. 

"If you aren't assessing then you're guessing." 

 In our assessment I am looking for evidence that we can measure and then remeasure in the future to ensure we are getting progress and meeting your goals. What you are measuring is incredibly important. If we only measure you pain scale then by the end of your program you may be out of pain but your body may function no differently. That is why I do what we call a Functional Range Assessment where we take a full inventory of how your body works and if there are any soft tissue problems I detect with my hands. 

STEP 2
SESSION

Treatment is making a decision on what the best use of our time together is. This is why your program is customized to you. 

Treatment isn't just about finding "tight" tissue or rubbing the painful spots.

It is a hands on co-piloted process where communication is the linchpin to success. While I can detect abnormal soft tissue findings you also have access to an infinite amount. You are in "first player mode" were you know the history of your body, the events you've been through, and how things currently feel in real time. This is something I like to use to our advantage. 

Whether I am doing soft tissue work or having you engage your muscles in a specific way the goal is always to be as precise as possible. This will also spill over into your maintenance program in between sessions. 

STEP 3 
MAINTENANCE

Maintenance is how we protect the work we did and continue to make progress in between treatments.

 A treatment is a one time event. A program is continued progress over time.

This is why we call it a systematic approach. We take the data from your assessment and treatment to give you a training program for continued success. We then loop the feedback from your training into your next session. 

Your maintenance program will aim to...

1.  Quality. Improve the components that make you up including your joints and the quality of the surrounding soft tissue

2. Function. The goal isn't to just feel better but to move better. When things move well they tend to feel well. 

3. Control. I want  you to have full control over your body. Imagine having the ability and confidence to move your body anytime and in any way. #DoAnything

Ryan Esdohr founded Superhuman Lab in 2014 after moving back to Iowa from Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, Ryan worked at a premiere sports therapy clinic working along side some of the most sought out doctors, trainers, and therapists which granted him the opportunity to work with athletes in the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, PGA, and Track & Field.
